Previewing songs from her forthcoming album. Drawing from folk music's long tradition, Karine does for Scottish singing & songwriting what Blazin' Fiddles have done for Scottish intrumentals. A winner of several BBC folk awards, her self-penned songs draw from folk music's long tradition, dealing with humanity in all its many guises - triumph, sorrow, joy, rebellion and the experience of those to whom life deals the least playable hands.

One of the very top names in the exhilirating traditional music of Quebec. Born into the region's vibrant cultural environment, where musical excellence is almost a given, it is the quality of live performance that sets Le Vent du Nord (The North Wind) apart - their dynamic stageshows are a tour de force.

All 4 members of the band sing and are also multi-instrumentalists. Expect guitar, fiddle, accordion, bass, piano and occasional hurdy-gurdy - plus the mesmeric foot percussion of Olivier Demers. He makes over 10,000 foot taps each show, all while playing the fiddle, and singlehandedly makes a Le Vent du Nord show seeing just in his own right.
